This costume ensemble
hailed from the 18th century style of Sacque back gowns. The
delicately sensous texture of the 100% silk satin skirt and sleeve
ruffles was balanced by the heavy cranberry velvet richly embroidered
overall with red and white satin threads. The bodice of the
gown closed at the side front with a row of hooks and eyes hidden by
the cream colored ruching. The bodice back had a
series of ties on the inside to moderately adjust the firmness of the
unboned but heavily interfaced bodice through the waist. This ensemble
included pocket hoops, sacque
back gown in embroidered velvet, 100% silk petticoat skirt with ruffle
at the
hem, and a soft 100% cotton petticoat. Although we used a
period correct pattern for a robe a la francaise, please check with
your local re-enactment group to see if this complies with their
clothing regulations before purchasing as a custom order.

| This early 1700's style coat was patterned after
a diagram in the Cut of Men's Clothes based on a garment in the
Victoria and Albert Museum. The coat shown above was made
from cardinal red medium weight wool flannel stiffened at the front and
cuffs with horsehair interfacing. The inside of the coat was
lined with heavyweight softened black linen and has black wool flannel
facings. There was just under five yards of black Venise lace
appliqued to the front, the back vent, and the cuffs. The
points of the lace along the front opening had a decorative black
glass button with rhinestone center and gold highlights on each making
a total of 24 buttons. This coat can not be exactly repeated, but something similar can be made as a custom order. |

|||
| This
1770's era coat was made as a custom order for a gentleman
dressing as a Centauri (from the series Babylon 5). The
pattern for
the coat is historically accurate, but the fabric and trim choices are
modern. It
features gold
lace, braid and trimming on a royal blue soft brushed 100% cotton twill
with cotton duck interlining and old gold cotton lining. |

![]() Shown here over a
100% linen shirt with attached ruffle at the front opening, this
civillian style of coat hails from just after the Revolutionary War
around the 1790's. This was created as a custom order from
midnight blue 100% wool flannel lined in black 100% cotton
twill. Silversmith
style buttons adorn the cuffs, front opening, pocket flaps
and back vents. There are pockets hidden under the pocket
flaps, and the buttonholes on the pocket flaps and center front opening
are functional and may be worn open or closed as the wearer
desires.
Due to the fitted nature of parts of this late 18th century style jacket, it is available only as a Custom Order. Adult sizes of this style made from wool outer fabric and facings, lined with 100% cotton and having brass or pewter buttons usually costs an estimated $425.00 plus shipping due to the detailing and handwork involved. Extra buttonholes and buttons at the back vent are not included this style - see 'pirate' picture below. |

This custom Regency style ensemble was based on historic clothing pieces from the Jane Austen era, specifically 1809. The silk gown features an empire waisted periwinkle 100% silk crepe bodice with matching ombre dyed periwinkle and lavender silk ribbons. The skirt was made from lavender 100% silk satin with a translucent periwinkle 100% silk organza overlay. The bodice is not visible in these photos. The Spencer jacket featured a shot fuschia and periwinkle taffeta embroidered overall with silver leaves and vines, accented with fuschia 100% silk dupioni collar, cuffs, and inserts at the back of the jacket. The silver filigree buttons at the front and decorating the back of the jacket have a rose and leaf design. This jacket was fully lined with a pale pink linen/cotton blend fabric. A custom ordered outfit made to measure in this style from comparable materials would cost about $650 + shipping. Modeled by René - thank you! |
