Vintage Style Cape Coat
Happy Friday! Today’s highlight is a vintage style wrap called a cape coat. The outside layer is soft and thick black and charcoal herringbone wool melton. This warm wrap has black quilted cotton lining with polyester batting in between the inner and outer layers. The collar flows down the front like a scarf and attaches at the hemline, turning into ‘pockets’. The cape coat measures approximately 21″ from center front base of neck to hemline, one shoulder measures about 6”. While there is a pewter clasp at the hemline as shown in the image above, it does not have to be used. More views and detailed images follow!

Random thoughts: This is one of my favorite vintage patterns. It is extremely comfortable, easy to use, and delightful in a variety of fabrics. The ‘pockets’ are comfortable spaces for the hands, or to tuck a handkerchief into.
