White Tree Embroidered Surcoat

White Tree Embroidered Surcoat

Happy Hobbit Day! Be sure to have second breakfast, followed by elevenses. Tea, potatoes, and possibly sausages. Going foraging for mushrooms or carrots? Just don’t get caught by Farmer Maggot. In honor of the day, here is a White Tree embroidered black cotton velvet surcoat inspired by the one Pippin wore as Guard of the Citadel. Only two of these remain in stock, and the trim is no longer available. 32″ length center front base of neck to hemline, 20″ wide. Open sides, intended to be worn belted. Head opening is about 24.5″. $150 includes domestic shipping, PM for additional details or to place an order. Thank you and have a great weekend!

Random thoughts: Hobbit Day might be the perfect time to re-watch all the extended editions of LOTR again. I have seen ideas for food inspired by characters and events to have throughout the (very long) day:

Begin with breakfast in the Shire: almond ring pastry or bagels with cream cheese, tea/coffee.

Proceed to second breakfast on Weathertop: tomato, sausage, bacon, and home fries.

Elevenses follows in Anduin with scones, fruit and tea.

Have lunch in Saruman’s storeroom: ham, cheese, pickles, hearty bread, mixed green salad.

Next, dine in Lothlorien for afternoon tea. Eat lembas, jam, double cream, cucumber or other traditional tea sandwiches, and tea. Assam or Victorian afternoon would be delicious. Here’s links to where to find these:

After a long journey, finally have dinner with Denethor. Perhaps roast chicken and cherry tomatoes. Did he eat any side veggies?

End with Mount Doom Lava Cakes. There’s several microwave mug cake recipes out there.

What favorite tea or recipe would you have on your viewing journey?
